Abstract

Childbearing family is a family that starts from the birth of the first child until the baby enters 30 months. The newborn period is the most vulnerable to disease. One of them is diarrhea. Diarrheal disease is still ranked second cause of death in children under five years. Knowledge and attitude of the mother will help cure diarrhea toddlers. Audiovisual media is an extension media that attracts and stimulates more senses. The purpose of this case study was to explore the issue of family nursing care at the Childbearing development stage at the Gondangrejo Health Center in Karanganyar.
The data collection technique conducted by visiting the object of the case study directly. The subject of this case study was 1 client. Data collection methods were interviews, observation, and physical examination. The focus of the study was on health education with audiovisual media in client mothers with the management of infants with diarrhea at the stage of Childbearing family development. The time taken in this case study was February 23rd-26th, 2019 (with a total of 4 visits during the case management).
The result of the case study showed an increase in maternal knowledge in the management of infants with diarrhea. Conclusion: An indicator of the success of health education is the value of the client's post-test results is higher than the pretest about the mother's knowledge of diarrheal disease in infants.
