ABSTRACT
Anemia is the biggest public health problem in the world, especially for women of reproductive age. For pregnant women, anemia plays a role in increasing the prevalence of maternal mortality and morbidity, and for infants it can increase the risk of infant morbidity and mortality, as well as low birth weight (LBW). According to the World Health Organization (WHO) 2017, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women is 41.8%. (World Health Organization, 2017). Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) 2018, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia is 48.9%. The figure shows an increase when compared to Riskesdas in 2013 which is 37.1%. Judging from the coverage of giving blood-added tablets to pregnant women in 2018, 38.1% of pregnant women received at least 90 Fe tablets and 61.9% received less than 90 Fe tablets. (Riskesdas, 2018).
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge of pregnant women about anemia with adherence to consumption of blood-added tablets in the Manyaran Health Center work area. This research is quantitative data in the form of numbers (Sugiyono, 2018). This type of research is an analytic observational study with a cross sectional approach. Cross sectional is an observational research design conducted to determine the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable where the measurements are carried out at one time (simultaneously) (Ariani, 2014), which aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge of pregnant women about anemia and adherence to Fe tablet consumption in the region. health center work.
