THE EFFECT OF HEALTH EDUCATION WITH MEDIA BOOKLET ON THE LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE OF MOTHERS ABOUT STUNTING
AT PUSKESMAS BENDOSARI SUKOHARJO

ABSTRACT

Suboptimal child growth can have short and long term effects in each child's life cycle if it occurs during a critical period of life. Stunting is a nutritional problem that occurs in toddlers characterized by shorter height compared to children of their age. Indonesia ranks third highest in Southeast Asia after Timor Leste and India. This research was conducted to determine the effect of health education through booklets on mothers' knowledge about stunting at the Bendosari Sukoharjo Health Center.
This study used a Quasi Experiment with a One Population design in this study were mothers under five who visited the Bendosari Sukoharjo Health Center in May 2023 with a sample of 83 mothers under five. The characteristics of the respondents in this study were mostly between the ages of 21-30, namely 31 respondents (37.3% ) then the education of the respondents in the majority was high school graduates, namely there were 40 respondents or 48.1%. The majority of mothers' knowledge about stunting before being given health education using booklet media was Medium, namely there were 40 respondents (48,2%), then after being given health education using booklet media the majority became Good, namely there were 45 respondents (54.2%), There was a significant increase from before to after being given health education using booklet media on the mother's knowledge of stunting with the result p = 0.000.
