Abstract
Adolescence is a special and important period, where adolescence is a period of maturation of the reproductive organs in humans. Reproductive health in women can be maintained by carrying out personal hygiene, which is an action to maintain one’s cleanliness and health. The research purposes was analyzed the effect of pocket book media on the level of knowledge and behavior of personal hygiene during menstruation in young women at the Al-manshur Islamic Boarding School Popongan, Tegalgondo Village, Wonosari District, Klaten Regency. The research type used an quasi-experimental research with a one group pre test-post test design. The research sample were 70 adolescents using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments were questionnaires and pocket book. Data analysis techniques using univariate and bivariate analysis. The results showed that 1) the analysis results used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test obtained Asymp. Sig. 2 tailed value of 0.000 (p ≤ 0.05) statistically, there is a significant effect health education used the Pocket Book media on knowledge of personal hygiene during menstruation. 2) Based on the analysis results used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, Asymp. Sig. 2 tailed value 0.000 (p ≤ 0.05) statistically, there is a significant effect between health education used Pocket Book media on increasing personal hygiene behavior. The research results concluded that 1) There is a significant effect of health education used the Pocket Book media on personal hygiene knowledge during menstruation. 2) There is a significant effect of health education used the Pocket Book media on increasing personal hygiene behavior.
