Abstract

Mother's Milk (ASI) and complementary feeding (MPASI) are ideal nutrients that contain nutrients for the baby's needs. Food that contains complete and balanced nutrition, in terms of quantity and quality, is needed for optimal growth and development, as well as maintaining the body's resistance to various infections, so that it can build up the supply of nutrients needed for the growth process in puberty and later adulthood. Babies can avoid various diseases.
Purpose: To analyze the effect of MPASI flipchart media on the level of knowledge of mothers of babies aged 6-12 months in Burikan village, working area of the cawas 1 health center.
The type of research used is pre-experimental research with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The author chose this design with the aim of knowing the differences in mothers' knowledge about complementary foods before and after the intervention.
This design is a development of the One Short Case Study design (researching with one group with one treatment and one measurement). In this design the measurements were carried out twice, the first measurement was carried out at the beginning (Pre Test) before the treatment (Treatment) and the second measurement (Post TEST) was carried out after being given treatment. The data analysis technique uses the Simple Random Sampling technique.
Based on data analysis using the Wilcoxon test, a P value of 0.001 was obtained with the knowledge of mothers of babies aged 6 - 12 months about MP ASI in Burikan village before being given counseling (Pre Test) with a median value of 70.00 and after being given counseling (Post Test) with a value the median is 80.00 so that the median change value is 10.00. This shows that there is an effect of health education using flipcharts on the knowledge of mothers of infants aged 6-12 months about MPASI.
