Abstract
THE EFFECT OF GENTLE BIRTH CLASS ON MOTHER'S DEADINESS IN DELIVERY IN PARANGJORO GROGOL, SUKOHARJO

ABSTRACT
Labor readiness is something that every pregnant woman must do to face the birth of a baby, especially at the age of trimester III where the phase of waiting for the birth of the baby, the preparations needed include material, physical and mental (psychology). Gentle birth is a birthing method that is calm, gentle, polite and utilizes all the natural elements in the human body. This research was conducted to examine the effect of giving gentle birth classes on the readiness of mothers to face childbirth in Parangjoro Grogol Sukoharjo Village.
This study used a Quasi Experiment with a One group pretest posttest design. The population of this study is pregnant women in Parangjoro Village, Grogol, Sukoharjo. The number of pregnant women in 1 month is 33 pregnant women.
The characteristics of the respondents in this study were mostly aged 21-30 years, there were 24 people (72.72%), a small number aged ≥41 years, there was 1 person (3.03%), with a higher education education, there were 14 people (42.42%). only 2 people with primary school education (6.06%) and most of them are working mothers, 19 people (57.57%), a small number of them don't work, 14 people (42.42%). Before being given the gentle birth class, most of the respondents were in the unprepared category, 20 people (60.60%) and a small number were in the ready category, 13 people (39.39%), after being given the gentle birth class, most of the respondents were in the ready category, there were 25 people (75.75%) and a small portion in the low category 8 people (24.24%).
Conclution there was a significant increase from before to after being given a gentle birth class on the readiness of pregnant women in facing labor with the result p = 0.000.
