THE EFFECT OF GIVING FOLIC ACID AS A PRECONCEPTIVE TREATMENT EFFORT ON THE COMPLIANCE OF PROSPECTIVE BRIDGE CONSUMING FOLIC ACID TABLETS IN BULU SUKOHARJO PUSKESMAS PUSKESMAS
ABSTRACT
One of the determinants of the quality of human resources is the fulfillment of individual nutritional adequacy. Preconceptional health is very important to pay attention to including nutritional status, especially in efforts to prepare for pregnancy because it will be closely related to pregnancy outcomes. One of the efforts to improve preconception nutritional status is to overcome anemia and chronic energy deficiency or KEK. Pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency (CED) have a 2.76 times chance of suffering from anemia than normal pregnant women. The program of giving folic acid tablets to the bride and groom showed good results. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving folic acid as an effort to preconception care on the compliance of the bride and groom in consuming folic acid tablets at the UPTD Puskesmas Bulu Sukoharjo.
This study used a Quasi Experiment with the One Group Pretest-Postest design. The population of this study were prospective brides at UPTD Puskesamas Bulu Sukoharjo, with a sample of 33 people. The characteristics of respondents based on age were mostly 20-35 years old, there were 30 people (90.9%), 15 people with university education (45.5%) and most of the prospective bride and groom worked, there were 19 people (57.6%). The adherence of the bride and groom to taking folic acid tablets before giving folic acid, most of the respondents were in the non-adherent category, there were 25 people (75.8%). After administration of folic acid, most of the respondents were included in the obedient category, there were 32 people (97%).
There is a significant influence between the administration of folic acid as an effort to preconception care on the compliance of the bride and groom in consuming folic acid tablets at the UPTD Puskesmas Bulu Sukoharjo. The closeness of the two variables is quite strong with a p-value of 0.000.
