Abstract
Abstract
Background : In helping to optimize children's development, the role of parents is very necessary. They must provide stimulation in all areas of fine motor development, gross motor skills, language development and social independence. This stimulation must be carried out regularly and continuously with affection. Parents providing stimulation is an early stage in the growth and development of a baby. Quality time with family is an important stage in fulfilling the stimulation a baby needs.
Research Objective : To determine the effectiveness of baby gyms on the development of babies aged 3-4 months at PMB Sri Wahyuni Pracimantoro Wonogiri, Central Java.
Research Method : This research is a pre-experimental research with a one group pretest posttest design and the sample in this research is all babies aged 3 - 4 months. This sample was taken using the Purposive Sampling method and the measuring tool used was the KPSP sheet (Pre-Developmental Screening Questionnaire).
Research Results : The results of this study show that before doing the baby gym the average development of babies aged 3 - 4 months was 2.4 with a thit of 3.146, whereas after doing the baby gym it was 1.9. Statistical tests using the dependent T test obtained a t value of 3.416 with a significant value of 0.004, if the t table value is (3.416> 1.753) it means that there is effectiveness of the baby gym on the development of babies aged 3 - 4 months.
Conclusion : This research can be concluded that the baby gym is effective for the development of babies aged 3 - 4 months.
