Abstract

ABSTRACT
Postpartum is the mother’s condition after giving birth to a baby and the release of the placenta until the condition of the reproductive organ returns to normal as before pregnancy, which lasts for 40 days, or around 6 weeks. The management of spontaneous postpartum mothers is pharmacological and non-pharmacological. Postpartum can cause discomfort. Postpartum discomfort can be treated with cabbage leaves compress which is done twice a day in the morning and evening for 3 days. This case study aimed to describe the nursing care for spontaneous postpartum mothers: postpartum discomfort by the intervention of cabbage leaves compress. The method used by the authors in this research is a case study with descriptive approach. The case was carried out on 7-9 February 2024 at UNS Kartasura Hospital. The subject of this case study is a spontaneous postpartum mother by the application of cabbage leaves compress intervention. Evaluation of measurement in this study used the SPES value observation sheet. The result obtained by the authors after 3 days was a decrease in SPES value from 4 to 2. It shows that this therapy can decrease the postpartum discomfort and is effective for decreasing the SPES value.
