Abstract
Background: Maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate (IMR) are critical indicators in evaluating the effectiveness of maternal and infant health efforts. The midwife's role is essential in providing health services that can optimize the detection of high risks during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum to reduce MMR and IMR through Continuity of Care (CoC) or comprehensive midwifery care. Objective: To provide comprehensive care for Mrs. F during pregnancy, labor, postpartum, family planning, and newborn by midwifery care standards using Varney's 7-step management approach. Methods: This research employed observational and descriptive with a case study approach. The subject was Mrs F, 35 weeks gestational age from March to June 2024, at UPT Puskesmas Banyuanyar, Surakarta. Results: The provided care followed the midwife's management. The delivery underwent vacuum extraction due to a short umbilical cord, with no postpartum complications. The neonate was born healthy and in good condition. Mrs. F declined contraception due to her husband's out-of-town employment. Conclusion: The implemented midwifery care adhered to established standards, effectively managing any encountered complications. There were no discrepancies in the midwifery care during pregnancy, postpartum, and family planning. The success of this approach underscores the importance of maintaining comprehensive and sustainable midwifery care standards.
