Abstract

Abstract

CED (chronic energy deficiency) is still a high health problem in Indonesia. The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of video-based health education on the knowledge levels regarding chronic energy deficiency (CED) in pregnant women at the Mauk Community Health Center of Tangerang Regency.
The type of research adopted quantitative with a Pre-Experimental approach, utilizing One Group Pretest-Posttest Design design. The population consisted of 145 pregnant women at the Mauk Community Health Center of Tangerang Regency, from which a sample of 36 pregnant women was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The inclusion criteria involved pregnant women in trimesters I, II, and III, registered at the Mauk Community Health Center of Tangerang Regency, literate individuals, and able to communicate effectively.
The research was conducted from January to March 2024. Based on the paired t-test result, the knowledge score increased from a pretest mean of 12.97 to a post-test mean of 15.5556, with a paired t-test significance of -11.224 (0.000). This significant difference between pre- and post-education using video media suggests that video media is highly effective as an educational tool for enhancing knowledge.
