ABSTRAK

Immunization or vaccination represents a simple, safe, and effective strategy to safeguard individuals from harmful infections before exposure to the causative agents. In 2022, Indonesia's complete routine immunization coverage reached 94.9%, a respectable achievement yet necessitating further enhancement. Efforts to achieve immunization coverage according to the target include improving maternal immunization knowledge. Consequently, educating mothers about the efficacy of immunization for toddlers is intended to foster a deeper understanding of its critical significance for their children's health.
The research utilized a quantitative quasi-experimental method with a pretest—post-test design without a control group design. It was conducted in May 2024 at the Posyandu Macanan Village. The sample comprised 40 respondents, mothers or parents of toddlers immunized at the Posyandu Macanan Village, Kebakkramat District.
The level of maternal knowledge regarding primary immunization before health education indicated that one respondent (2.5%) had little knowledge about primary immunization, 33 mothers (82.5%) had enough knowledge, and six mothers (15%) had good knowledge. In post-health education, one mother (2.5%) had enough knowledge, and 39 mothers (97.5%) had excellent knowledge. The Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test obtained ρ value < 0.001 with α = 0.05 (ρ < α), signifying a statistically significant effect of health education utilizing leaflet media on enhancing maternal knowledge about complete primary immunization for toddler health at the Posyandu Macanan Village in 2024.
