Abstract

Gastritis is a disease that causes pain and discomfort, thereby impairing the ability to perform daily activities. Gastritis often occurs in adolescents caused by various factors, one of which is the wrong lifestyle. Adolescence is a transitional period that is very valuable when it is in good health and education conditions. Therefore, adolescents need to have good knowledge about preventing gastritis early on. Knowledge of gastritis prevention is information in the form of things related to gastritis to help individuals do something starting from knowing, understanding, analyzing, and evaluating in order to prevent gastritis problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving video media petis (gastritis prevention) on the level of knowledge of gastritis in adolescents at SMP Negeri 3 Teras Boyolali.
This study employed a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test group design. A purposive sampling technique was employed to identify respondents, resulting in a total of 60 students in Class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Teras Boyolali. The data analysis employed was the Wilcoxon test. The Wilcoxon test yielded results indicating that the provision of video media on gastritis (a preventative measure) had a discernible impact on the knowledge level of gastritis among adolescents at SMP Negeri 3 Teras Boyolali, with a p-value of 0.000 (p-value <0.05).
The conclusion of this study indicate that the provision of video media presentations on gastritis prevention has a discernible impact on the level of knowledge about gastritis among adolescents at SMP Negeri 3 Teras Boyolali.Suggestions from this study are expected to add insight, knowledge, knowledge in preventing and overcoming gastritis so that there will be no adverse effects on people's lives.
