Abstract

Indonesia as a country with the highest cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in Southeast Asia. Central Java Province ranks second highest after East Java province with 2,345 cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. In the target area of the UPT Puskesmas Jayengan in 2016 the incidence of Dengue Fever was 34 cases with a house index of 5.8%. In April 2017 the jumantik program began and at the end of 2017 there were still 15 cases and a house index above 5%. The purpose of this study was to analyze how the implementation of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever control in the jumantik program in the fostered area of UPT Puskesmas Jayengan, Surakarta City.
This study uses a phenomenological qualitative design. The sampling technique was purposive sampling involving 4 informants. Data collection is done by in-depth interviewing. The analysis technique used is the Colaizzi method.
The results showed that the coordinator of the jumantik knew about the jumantik, the time of implementation of the activity, the purpose of the jumantik activity, the constraints and problem solving encountered in the implementation of the jumantik activity.
The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of controlling Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever through a jumantik activity program has been implemented. High house index is still found due to the indiscipline of jumantik officers appointed to be responsible for carrying out jumantic activities on vacant lands, public places and empty houses.
